Is Legal Lift a law firm?
No. Legal Lift is a document service that provides professional, up-to-date UK legal document templates. We're not a law firm, which keeps our prices low and our library broad. When you need advice tailored to your circumstances, we give you access to independent SRA-regulated solicitors.
Are the documents legally valid in the UK?
Yes. Our templates are drafted to comply with the law of England and Wales and are kept current with 2026 legislation, including the Renters' Rights Act 2025 and Employment Rights Act 2025. As with any legal document, correct completion matters, and for complex situations we recommend a solicitor review.
How much does Legal Lift cost?
Our Personal plan is £19.99 per month billed annually (£24.99 monthly), and our Business plan is £39.99 per month billed annually. All plans include the full document library and the AI generator. You can cancel anytime.
Can I sign documents electronically?
Yes — you can sign most documents electronically right from the generator, with a timestamped certificate as your audit trail. Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney have specific witnessing requirements that can't be met electronically, so those still need signing by hand.
What types of documents can I create?
81 templates across eight categories: Employment & HR, Property & Tenancy, Wills & Estate, Business & Commercial, Family & Personal, Company Formation, Technology & IP, and Debt Recovery.
How does the AI document generator work?
You answer a few plain-English questions about your situation, and the generator tailors the chosen template to your needs. You can then edit it and download it as PDF or Word.
Can I get a document reviewed by a solicitor?
Yes. You can request a solicitor document review for £49, with a reply within 2 business days, directly from the generator or our Services page. Consultations and bespoke drafting are also available through our independent SRA-regulated solicitor network.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, you can cancel at any time from your account dashboard. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Do you store my documents securely?
Your documents are saved in your account dashboard so you can access and download them whenever you need. We take data security seriously and process personal data in line with UK GDPR.
Who is Legal Lift for?
Both individuals and businesses. Individuals use Legal Lift for wills, tenancy agreements, family arrangements and more. Businesses use it for employment contracts, commercial agreements, company documents and debt recovery.
Can I buy a single document without a subscription?
Yes. If you only need one document, our Single Document option is a one-time payment with no subscription — pricing depends on the document's complexity, from £7.99 for simple letters up to £59 for high-value commercial documents. A credit for a higher tier also covers any simpler document.
What happens during the free trial?
Personal and Business plans include a 3-day free trial covering one document. A card is required to start the trial, and billing begins automatically once it ends unless you cancel first from your dashboard.
Can I get a refund?
Because documents are generated instantly and are yours to keep once downloaded, we don't generally offer refunds once a document has been generated. If you believe you've been charged in error, or a technical fault prevented you from receiving your document, contact us and we'll review it.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor used by millions of businesses. Legal Lift never sees or stores your full card details.
Do I need to create an account to use Legal Lift?
Yes — you’ll need to sign up and log in to generate a document, since your documents and any purchases are tied to your account and saved in your dashboard.
Are Legal Lift’s documents valid in Scotland or Northern Ireland?
Our templates are drafted for the law of England and Wales, which has a different legal system to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They’re not designed for use in those jurisdictions.
Is Legal Lift itself regulated by the SRA?
No — Legal Lift is a document service, not a law firm, so it isn’t itself SRA-regulated. The independent solicitors in our referral network are separately SRA-regulated, and you can verify any solicitor’s credentials directly with the SRA.
Can I edit my document after I’ve downloaded it?
Yes. Downloaded Word documents are fully editable, and PDF documents can be edited in most PDF editors. We’d recommend reviewing the generated wording carefully before you rely on it either way.
