Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using legallift.co.uk. By creating an account, starting a free trial, or purchasing a document, you agree to be bound by them.

1. What Legal Lift is

Legal Lift ("we", "us") is a trading name of Veritas Consulting Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16932352, registered office: 73 Francis Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B16 8SP). We provide a document generation service: a library of legal document templates, tailored to your details using a combination of fixed, professionally-drafted clauses and AI-assisted rephrasing of the information you provide. We also offer access to a network of independent SRA-regulated solicitors.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login details secure. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must be 18 or over to create an account.

3. Free trial

New subscribers may be offered a free trial (currently 3 days), limited to generating one document. At the end of the trial, your subscription automatically continues at the plan price shown at signup unless you cancel first. You can cancel any time from your dashboard.

4. Subscriptions and one-off purchases

Legal Lift offers recurring subscription plans and one-off single-document purchases, at the prices shown on our pricing page at the time of purchase.

• Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the paid period.
• One-off document purchases grant a single document credit for the tier purchased, which does not expire and can be used for any document at or below that tier.
• All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

5. Refunds

Because documents are generated instantly and are yours to keep once downloaded, we don't generally offer refunds once a document has been generated. If you believe you've been charged in error, or a technical fault prevented you from receiving your document, contact us via the contact form and we'll review it.

6. Your documents

Once generated, the document is yours to use, download and modify as you see fit. Legal Lift retains ownership of the underlying template library, clause wording and generation technology. You may not resell, redistribute or republish our blank templates as your own product.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to create fraudulent or misleading documents
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, payment requirements or access controls
• Scrape, copy or resell our template library or generator
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or attempt unauthorised access to our systems

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

8. No legal advice, no liability for document use

Documents generated through Legal Lift are provided "as is" for your own use. We take reasonable care to keep templates current with UK law, but we cannot guarantee a document is suitable for every circumstance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legal Lift is not liable for losses arising from your use of a generated document, except where caused by our negligence or where liability cannot be excluded by law (such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud). Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

Some documents — such as wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney — have specific legal signing or witnessing requirements. It's your responsibility to follow them; we'll flag the key requirements where relevant, but always check current guidance or take advice if you're unsure.

9. Solicitor network

Where you choose to engage a solicitor through our network, that solicitor's own terms of engagement and professional obligations apply to that relationship. Legal Lift is not a party to, and is not liable for, the advice given by independent solicitors.

10. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update these terms, our pricing, or the service itself from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we make material changes. Continuing to use Legal Lift after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Termination

You can close your account at any time via your dashboard or by contacting us. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or where we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
